PDMA warns of heat wave in April

LAHORE: Above average temperatures are expected and there are chances of heat wave in some areas of Pakistan in the month   of April, according to a weather forecast report of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

According to a spokesperson from PDMA, Lahore may experience a rise in heat intensity this April, slightly surpassing the thirty-year average.

Light rain predicted for Islamabad, upper areas of country

PDMA has also warned of a risk of heat wave, especially in Punjab’s plains, impacting large cities significantly.  There is also chances of strong winds, dust storms, heavy rain, and hail in some areas.

North Punjab could face flooding due to heavy rains, while hilly areas may see increased landslides.

PDMA has alerted Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners across Punjab and has urged all concerned organisations to prepare for climate-related challenges.
