People chose economic stability over politics of anarchy: PM Shehbaz

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Sunday that people want reduction in inflation, solutions to their problems and overall economic progress instead of politics of anarchy and chaos.
After various international rating agencies expressed confidence in Pakistan’s performance, Sharif said in a statement that instead of focusing on large public gatherings, there is a need to improve the economic conditions of the people.
He said that economic recovery is closely tied to political stability and that political chaos disrupts efforts to provide relief to the public.
The premier said that by supporting political stability, the people have contributed to the nation’s economic development and unity will be the key to Pakistan’s bright economic future and freedom from inflation.

He said that the nation, political parties, institutions, and provinces must work together to tackle the economic challenges and terrorism.
“The country has already lost a great deal of time due to political instability, and wasting more time is not in the national interest,” he said.
The federal government, he affirmed, will collaborate with all provinces to address public issues, reduce inflation and ensure equitable development.
The prime minister that inflation has returned to single digits. “Economic conditions are improving, and increased exports, stable rupee, improved remittances and decreased interest rate are all signs of economic stability. This should be our goal to have this the last programme with the IMF, only then this will be the our true success.”
He said that abuse, violence and anarchy will neither serve the economy nor society.Every province and institution should play a role to address people’s problems.
