The main accused of the case include prominent figures such as former military chief Pervez Musharraf, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) President Pervaiz Elahi, and the owner of the above-mentioned housing societies Malik Riaz. Chief Justice Isa highlighted all three names. He went on to assert, “Pervez Musharraf, Pervez Elahi, and Malik Riaz are the real owners of Pakistan.”
During proceedings, the Chief Justice also voiced apprehensions regarding the environmental impact and legal compliance of housing developments, particularly in light of Pakistan’s rising pollution levels, as reported in recent news.
CJ Isa expressed dissatisfaction with the reputation of the judiciary and stressed the need for improvement. He raised pointed questions regarding the accountability of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), querying whether official audits were conducted or if the organisation considered itself exempt from scrutiny.
