Peshawar residents experience unannounced power outages of up to 12 hours

PESHAWAR: Residents of several areas in Peshawar are grappling with prolonged and unannounced power outages as load shedding continues unabated. In areas such as Chamkani, Dilazak Road, Phandu, and Badaber, electricity outages are lasting up to 12 hours daily.
Meanwhile, in the inner parts of Peshawar, residents are experiencing load shedding for durations of 5 to 6 hours.
The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has reported that the electricity demand in the PESCO region currently stands at 3,264 megawatts, while the supply is only 2,400 megawatts.
PESCO’s spokesperson stated that load shedding is being carried out according to the schedule in areas with high line losses.
