Peshawar’s ‘Charsi Tikka’ owner arrested for harassing foreign tourists

PESHAWAR: The owner of Peshawar’s renowned Charsi Tikka in Namkamandi, Nisar Khan ‘Charsi’ has been arrested on accusations of engaging in inappropriate behavior with his foreign tourists.

According to sources, after the images related to the incident circulated on various social media platforms, the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) issued directives for immediate legal action and a case was registered against the Charsi Tikka owner under section 294 of the Pakistan Penal Code in Peshawar.

The sources told that the individual was charged for indecent conduct with foreign tourists who were residing at a local hotel.

Nisar has also been called out in the past for inappropriate behaviour with female tourists, especially those visiting from outside of Pakistan. His non-consensual touching has been much debated on social media too.

Another user ‘Kausar’ commented that the incident has tarnished the reputation of the people of Peshawar.

Meanwhile, a user named ‘Kashif Wani’ said, “Thankyou for putting him behind bars.”
