ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways is increasing fares for mail/express, intercity, saloon, and parcel trains by 5 per cent starting September 19, 2023. This is due to the government’s recent increase in petroleum prices. The fare increase will not apply to short lead passenger trains, shuttle trains, or the first 250 kilometres of long lead train journeys.
This is the second time in just over a month that Pakistan Railways has increased fares. In August, the railway raised fares for all mail/express, intercity, shuttle, passenger trains, and saloons by 10 per cent.
