ISLAMABAD: The federal government announced a hike in fuel prices on Saturday night, citing global market volatility as the key driver behind the adjustment. The new rates will be effective from December 1, 2024.
According to a notification issued by the Finance Division, the price of petrol, widely used by private vehicles, has been increased by Rs3.72 per liter, bringing it to Rs252.10. High-speed diesel (HSD), essential for transportation and agriculture, saw a rise of Rs3.29, now costing Rs258.43 per liter.
In contrast, the prices of kerosene and light diesel oil were slightly reduced. Kerosene, often used in rural areas for cooking and heating, decreased by Rs0.62 to Rs164.98, while light diesel oil dropped by Rs0.48 to Rs151.73 per liter.
