RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA), led by DG Asim Javed, has intensified its operations in Rawalpindi to crack down on shopkeepers selling expired products and adulterated milk.
During the recent crackdown conducted across various areas, 17 milk shops were sealed due to complaints of diluting milk with water to increase quantity.
Inspections revealed that the quality and safety of the milk were compromised due to this adulteration, resulting in the seizure of 220 litres of tainted milk.
In addition to sealing the shops, the Punjab Food Authority imposed fines totaling Rs163,000 on those found guilty of adulteration.
Furthermore, a store in the Suhawa area of Jhelum faced penalties amounting to Rs30,000 for selling expired products.
