ISLAMABAD: In the federal capital Islamabad as well, female students and teachers will now be able to take advantage of the new free bus service to and from educational institutions.
The initiative called ‘Pink Bus Service’ is aimed at bolstering access to education. The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MOFEPT) has unveiled plans to deploy 20 buses dedicated to providing free transportation services exclusively for female students and teachers within the capital.

This joint venture between MOFEPT and the district administration aims to address the transportation challenges faced by women in accessing educational institutions. The initiative comes as a response to the insufficient transportation options available, particularly for female students and teachers.
The 20 buses, acquired from various schools and colleges in Islamabad, will feature a distinctive pink theme and will operate across both rural and urban areas of the city. This move is expected to significantly alleviate the burden of transportation costs for female students and educators.
Currently, a substantial portion of the total existing fleet of 385 buses available with schools, colleges, and universities, remains non-operational due to various factors.
