Plastic bags to be banned in Punjab

LAHORE: The Punjab government on March 13, decided to ban plastic bags province-wide starting June 6.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.

During the meeting, it was also agreed to modernise the kiln industrial system to improve the Air Quality Index (AQI).

Aurangzeb stressed the significance of guaranteeing a high quality of life for all citizens and outlined plans for stringent actions against air pollution.

Students were also urged to establish Environment Climate Change Councils in educational institutions.
