PM directs for an independent audit of Ramazan Relief Package 2025

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired the review meeting on Prime Minister’s Ramazan Relief Package 2025.
During the meeting, he said that the Ramazan package has been introduced for the entire country, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K), without any discrimination.

He commended the efforts of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Ramadan (NADRA) and other related tech institutions in making this package transparent. The premier also directed to conduct a third-party audit of the Ramazan Relief Package 2025.
“The money in the Ramazan Relief Package is being delivered to the deserving through a very easy and transparent system of digital wallet,” PM Sharif said, adding that this model should be adopted in other government schemes as well.
During the meeting, he also issued directives to prepare a comprehensive report on the awareness campaign being run by telecom companies and banks regarding the Ramazan Relief Package, so that the project can be made more effective.
Officials also briefed the attendees on the progress of the Ramazan Relief Package 2025. They informed that, so far, money has been delivered to 63 per cent of the deserving people; and all the documentary details of all such deserving people who have received the money are available.
The prime minister was also informed that 2,224 employees are on duty in this project. “Telephone calls have been made to more than 1.5 million deserving people regarding the Ramazan Relief Package so far,” the officials said during briefing.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecom Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Federal Minister Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar, NADRA Chairman, PTA Chairman, and other government officers concerned, along with representatives of private companies supporting the Ramazan relief package.
