PM directs for uninterrupted gas supply to domestic sector

ISLAMABAD: Taking notice of the shortage of gas supply to the domestic consumer, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has directed an uninterrupted gas supply to this vital sector.
Addressing a review meeting held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, regarding gas supply in the country, the Prime Minister directed that an uninterrupted supply of gas to domestic consumers should be ensured immediately during the winter season.
The PM further said that reforms should be brought in the structure of the system to permanently resolve the problem, and the supply of gas to domestic consumers is the top priority of the government.
The Prime Minister was informed that there is a surplus RLNG in the system, due to which gas load management has improved compared to last year.

The officials also briefed the PM that the duration of gas load shedding is less this year compared to last year, and domestic consumers are being supplied gas from 5 am to 10 pm.
Officials said that gas is also being provided to the power sector according to demand. Regarding consumer complaints, the online dashboards of Sui Southern Gas Pipe Limited and Sui Northern Gas Pipe Limited are working.
Officials said that the rate of resolving complaints of SNGPL is 93 per cent while that of SSGC is 79 per cent and all gas fields of the country are active.
The Prime Minister further said that reforms should be brought in the structure of the system to permanently resolve the problem, and the supply of gas to domestic consumers is the top priority of the government.
