PM removes chief commissioner of Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has removed Captain retired Anwarul Haq from his post as the chief commissioner of Islamabad, it emerged on Thursday.

Muhammad Ali Randhawa, a Grade 20 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, is expected to replace outgoing Anwarul Haq.

Ministry of Interior’s Section Officer Administration, Ghulam Murtaza, has sent a letter in this regard to the Secretary Establishment Division.

The letter states that the Ministry of Interior wants to utilize the services of Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa, who is currently serving as the Commissioner Lahore, either as the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad or as key officer Capital Development Authority (CDA).

It is pertinent to mention here that Captain Retired Muhammad Anwarul Haq was appointed new commissioner of Islamabad during the caretaker government tenure.

On the other hand, Director General Administration Aamir Khalil will replace Abdul Razzaq as the DG Resources in the CDA, while Abdul Razzaq would report to the HR Directorate.

Director Administration Fayyaz Ahmad Watto has been given additional powers of DG administration, whereas deputy director general estate has been transferred and posted as DG human resource.

Deputy DG HR Kamran Bakht has been directed to report to the HR department for further posting. A BPS-18 officer of Police Hina Munawwar has been posted in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on deputation.

Meanwhile, the six senior public officers have been nominated by the Establishment Division for a course in the National Defence University (NDU). They include Joint Secretary Finance Noreen Bashir, DG Foreign Affairs Tahir Hussain Andrabi, DG Foreign Affairs Ali Asad Gilani, DIG FIA Headquarters Ali Asad Gilani and Joint Secretary Trade Bilal Pasha.
