PM Shehbaz meets Saudi Crown Prince at One Water Summit


Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the Saudi Arabian Crown Prince, Muhammad bin Salman, on the sides of the One Water Summit.

RIYADH: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with the Saudi Arabian Crown Prince, Muhammad bin Salman, on the sides of the One Water Summit.

During the meeting, the two heads reiterated a shared commitment to improving bilateral relations between the two Islamic Republics.

The Saudi crown prince noted meeting Shehbaz for the fifth time in six months, with the two leaders agreeing to intensify cooperation in economic, trade, and investment sectors.

Muhammad bin Salman talked about the quick progress made by Pakistan in executing various investment agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs).

Shehbaz thanked the de facto Saudi leader for his continued support for Pakistani economy and extended an invitation to visit Pakistan in the near future.

Meanwhile, Shehbaz also met with the French President, Emmanuel Macron. The Pakistani PM congratulated the French president on the successful co-hosting of the One Water Summit.

He noted France’s role in ‘addressing’ climate change and development challenges, as well as Macron’s assistance to Pakistan during the 2022 nationwide floods.

The two leaders discussed improving business-to-business (B2B) cooperation in agriculture, livestock and other sectors.

Shehbaz talked about further strengthening economic ties between the European country and Pakistan. He also invited Macron to consider investment opportunities within the cash-strapped Pakistan.
