PM Shehbaz vows swift action against killers of Chinese nationals

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif assured the Chinese envoy on Tuesday that the perpetrators behind the deadly attack targeting Chinese nationals in Bisham, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, will be brought to justice promptly.

During his visit to the Chinese embassy in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz extended his condolences to Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong over the tragic incident that claimed the lives of five Chinese citizens in a suicide attack.

“The Pakistani government is committed to conducting a thorough investigation at the highest level to ensure that those responsible for this heinous act, as well as any accomplices, are held accountable,” he said.

Expressing solidarity with the families of the victims, Prime Minister Shehbaz conveyed messages of condolence to the Chinese president and prime minister. He emphasized the unwavering resolve of Pakistan to safeguard the Pak-China friendship and to thwart any attempts aimed at undermining the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

In response, Ambassador Jiang Zaidong appreciated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit and his personal commitment to investigating the incident. He lauded Pakistan’s steadfast dedication to strengthening bilateral ties with China.

The prime minister was accompanied by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Minister of Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi during the visit to the Chinese embassy.
