PM to visit China from June 4

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif will visit China from June 4 to 8 on the invitation of President Xi Jinping, foreign ministry said on Friday.
The trip will seek to upgrade cooperation under the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is a key part of Beijing’s Belt and Road Initiative, the foreign office spokesman Mumtaz Baloch said in a press briefing.
“An important aspect of the prime minister’s visit will be meetings with corporate executives of leading Chinese companies dealing with oil and gas, energy, ICT and emerging technologies,” Baloch said.
Sharif will meet President Xi and hold delegation level talks with Premier Li Qiang, Baloch added.
The Prime Minister will invite the Chinese President to visit Pakistan.
PM CHAIRS HIGH LIEVEL MEETING ON UPCOMING CHINA VISIT
Meanwhile chairing a meeting in Islamabad regarding his upcoming visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to prepare an action plan to encourage the Chinese companies to set up industries in Pakistan.
He assured that Pakistan will provide all possible facilities to Chinese industrialists and investors.
The Prime Minister directed to formulate a comprehensive plan regarding productive business-to-business meetings between the two countries during his visit to China.
A detailed briefing was given to the Prime Minister regarding the preparations for his visit to China.
A delegation of industrialists, investors and entrepreneurs from Pakistan will also accompany Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to Chinese city Shenzhen.
It was informed that the delegation will meet the Chinese business community and discuss the promotion of business-to-business relations between the two countries.
The Prime Minister directed Pakistani Ambassador in China to provide all possible facilities to the Pakistani business delegation in China.
