PMD predicts cloudy weather, rain on Friday

WEB DESK: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD has predicted that on Friday, the weather will be partly cloudy in most parts of the country, with gusty winds and thundershowers expected at a few places.

PMD said that areas in Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab are likely to get rain, along with North-East and Central Balochistan, Upper and South-East Sindh. Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan might also receive downpour today. Heavy rain with hailstorm may occur at some places during this period, the met department said.

Going region by region, Islamabad and its surrounding areas will be partly cloudy in the morning hours, with rain, thundershowers and gusty winds expected at some places.

In Punjab, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Talagang, Mianwali, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Khanewal, Taunsa, Muzaffargarh, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, DG Khan, and Rajanpur are expected to remain partly cloudy with strong winds and thundershowers. During this time, heavy rain and hail are predicted for some places.

Likewise, in Kyber Pakhtunkhwa, mostly cloudy skies are expected on Friday for most districts of the province, while partly cloudy skies are expected in Chitral, Shangla, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Bajaur, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Khyber, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Bannu, Kohat, Hangu, Waziristan and Kurram. Hailstorm is also possible at a few places during this period.

In Sindh,mostly cloudy skies are expected in most districts of the province, while partly cloudy skies are expected in Sukkur, Gotki, Kashmore, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamshoro, Dadu, Hyderabad, Umerkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Khairpur and surrounding areas. During this period, heavy rain may occur at some places.

Similarly, Balochistan will get partly cloudy weather in most districts of the province, along with a possibility of rain with strong winds and thunderstorms in Quetta, Chaman, Ziarat, Barkhan, Kohlu, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Nushki, Harnai, Zhob, Musa Khel, Khuzdar, Kalat, Kharan, Lasbela, Panjgur and in the afternoon. During this period, heavy rain with hail may occur at some places.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will also get rain, and possibly thunderstorms at some places.
