PMD predicts thundershowers and hailstorms for today

WEB DESK: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says that today Upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and North-East Balochistan will be partly cloudy with the possibility of rain with strong winds and thundershowers. During this, hailstorm may also occur at a few places.
Going region by region, PMD predicts that Islamabad and its surrounding areas will be partly cloudy on Wednesday, with the possibility of rain with strong winds. Some areas may also get thundershowers and hailstorm.
However, the weather is likely to remain hot and dry in most districts of Punjab. Some areas in the upper part of the province will get respite from heat with rain and windy weather, including Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Talahang, Mianwali, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Faisalabad. These cities might also get hailstorms too.
Likewise, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, strong winds and rain with thundershowers are expected in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai and Kurram. Other than these, some districts will get windy weather and potential rain, including Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Haripur, Kohat, Bannu, Waziristan, and Dera Ismail Khan.

Sindh, on the other hand, will remain extremely hot and dry on Wednesday, PMD predicts. Balochistan too, will get dry weather, with mercury shooting up in the southern districts during the day. In the afternoon, strong winds and some rain may come for Zhob, Musakhel, Barkhan, Qila Saifullah, Kalat, Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, and Khuzdar.
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will remain partly cloudy with the possibility of rain with strong winds and thundershowers.
