PNMC reveals 38 ‘fake’ nursing colleges across Pakistan: full list released

ISLAMABAD: A major development in Pakistan’s healthcare education sector has shaken the country as 38 nursing colleges across multiple provinces have been officially declared fake. The Pakistan Nursing and Midwifery Council (PNMC) issued the full list today, warning that degrees obtained from these institutions will not be recognised.

According to the PNMC, the institutions identified as fraudulent span across the Federal Capital, Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The list includes colleges that have been operating without proper accreditation, with their qualifications being deemed invalid for professional practice.

  • National Institute of Modern Languages
  • Institute of Health Sciences
  • Unique Technical and Professional Institute

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa:

  • Orbit College (Swabi)

Sindh:

  • Aman Institute (Karachi)
  • Media Ed School (Karachi)
  • Pre Institute (Karachi)
  • College of Nursing (Hyderabad)
  • Kainat Institute (Khairpur)

Punjab:

  • Midcare College (Attock)
  • Halal Nursing School (Faisalabad)
  • Professional Institute (Faisalabad)
  • Professional College (Gujranwala)
  • Punjab Nursing Academy (Jhang)
  • Boston International College (Lahore)
  • Mohammedan College (Lahore)
  • Quaid-e-Azam Institute (Lahore)

WARNING ISSUED

The PNMC has issued a strict warning to those who have obtained nursing degrees from these institutions, saying, “Degrees obtained from these colleges will not be recognised, and individuals will not be able to pursue professional careers in nursing based on these qualifications.”

The revelation has raised serious concerns about the quality of nursing education in the country and the effectiveness of accreditation processes. The council has vowed to take further action to ensure that such institutions are held accountable and that the integrity of nursing education is upheld.
