Police arrest two suspects for impersonating Mohsin Naqvi’s relatives

LAHORE: Two individuals were arrested by the police for intimidating traffic wardens and journalists. The suspects falsely claimed to be relatives of Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, exploiting the association to influence the release of a young girl caught driving without a number plate.

A video capturing the incident circulated widely on social media, depicting the suspects exerting pressure on top police officers present at the scene.

Taking swift action, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore, Mustansar Feroze, promptly addressed the matter, directing the police to take decisive measures against the culprits. The identified suspects, Yasin and his accomplice, were found to have utilised Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s name to coerce the police into releasing the young girl.

Responding to the situation, Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi personally intervened and instructed the police to take stringent action against the perpetrators. Subsequently, the police successfully traced and apprehended the suspects, initiating further legal proceedings.

The incident, as detailed in the First Information Report (FIR), unfolded between Liberty Market and Hussain Chowk on November 22, with an official case being registered on November 26.
