PESHAWAR: The Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency (ETEA) organised a written examination for police constables, attracting a staggering 11,000 candidates across seven examination centres in Peshawar, officials said.

The test, part of a rigorous recruitment process, is aimed at selecting the best candidates to join the local police force.

Of particular note is the participation of 355 women candidates, including 29 individuals from minority communities, demonstrating a push towards a more inclusive police force.

ETEA officials highlighted the significance of these numbers, reflecting both gender and minority representation in the recruitment process.

To promote transparency, the entire examination process is being streamed live on Facebook. “The objective of Facebook Live is to show the recruitment process to the public and ensure transparency,” stated ETEA Executive Director Adil Safi.

This open access to the recruitment proceedings has allowed viewers to observe the test in real time, and even submit complaints through the comments section, he said.

“The feedback we are receiving is valuable,” said Safi, adding that live monitoring of all seven examination centres is being conducted to maintain the integrity of the process. This move is seen as a step towards greater public confidence in the fairness of government recruitment.
