Political upset in Bajaur: independent candidate reverses JI’s win

BAJAUR: The official result of PK-21 Bajaur III has been released marking a shift in the electoral landscape. The earlier declared winner, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) candidate Sardar Khan, has now faced a reversal of fortune, as his victory has been overturned, resulting in a loss.

The triumph now belongs to an independent candidate supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Ajmal Khan, who clinched victory with a commanding lead. Ajmal Khan secured a total of 16,712 votes, establishing a substantial margin of 8,584 votes over his closest competitor.

Former front-runner Sardar Khan, representing JI, has been relegated to the second position with 8,128 votes. A local journalist from Bajaur shared form 47 of the constituency, showing initial unofficial results and then showing updates results.
