WEB DESK: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has announced a historic electricity package aimed at enhancing the country’s industrial sector. The Prime Minister has reduced the electricity tariff for industries by Rs10.69 per unit, setting the new rate at Rs34.99 per unit.

Previously, NEPRA had proposed a reduction of Rs10.69 per unit for industries. As a result of the Prime Minister’s package, industries will be relieved of a burden exceeding Rs200 billion.

This package is designed to make industries competitive in the global market by reducing the cost of production for industrial and agricultural products. It is expected to lower production costs and increase exports.

The acceleration of industrial growth and a rapid increase in employment are anticipated outcomes of this package. With faster industrial wheels and increased revenues, the national economy stands to benefit significantly.
