ISLAMABAD: The central spokesperson of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Shazia Marri, has said that the “party rejects the 18 per cent tax on solar panels”. She also said that the party considers increase in salaries and pensions “insufficient”.
Shazia Marri said that after the announcement of the federal budget, people only had the option to use solar panels to avoid expensive electricity bills. She said that with these taxes, now that options has also been taken away from the people. “We reject the 18 per cent tax on solar panels,” she added.
She said that the increase in salaries and pensions is also insufficient at the prevalent inflation levels. “It is a joke that only Rs 15 billion has been allocated for the Hyderabad-Karachi Motorway,” Marri added.
The PPP leader also said that people’s lives have become unbearable due to inflation and unemployment, and still no relief has been given for them in the budget. “Additional tax on petroleum products will also increase inflation,” she said.
