President bestows Nishan-i-Pakistan on Saudi defence minister

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has bestowed upon Saudi Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, the prestigious Nishan-i-Pakistan award. The ceremony, held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, was attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, federal ministers, top military officials, and members of the diplomatic community.

The honour was conferred upon Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud in acknowledgment of his commendable services to Pakistan and its people. His efforts in bolstering defence cooperation, strengthening bilateral relations, and contributing to regional peace initiatives were duly recognised.

Earlier in the day, the distinguished guest attended the Pakistan Day military parade at the Shakarpariyan ground in Islamabad. The event commemorated the historic Lahore Resolution of 1940 with fervour and patriotism.
