Prime Minister, cabinet voluntarily refuse salaries, benefits

ISLAMABAD: Federal cabinet, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has voluntary decided to refuse salaries and benefits.

This decision was announced in the Federal Cabinet’s meeting chaired by the prime minister here today. The meeting discussed various important matters concerning the nation including the refusal of remunerations.

This move has come as part of the government’s efforts towards austerity and was deemed essential for the country’s progress.

During the meeting, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb briefed the Cabinet on the Staff Level Agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He highlighted that this agreement is anticipated to have a positive impact on the nation’s economy and further enhance investor confidence.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved the establishment of the Pakistan International Airlines Holding Company, aiming to streamline privatisation operations and enhance efficiency in the aviation sector.

In a solemn moment, the Cabinet also paid tribute to the martyrs of the recent terrorist attack in Mir Ali in Waziristan, offering prayers for their souls.
