Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif launches tree plantation campaign

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has launched a tree plantation campaign, by planting a sapling in the premises of the Prime Minister’s House.

PM Sharif said that more than 40 million saplings will be planted in all provinces, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. “Youth and farmers should actively participate in the tree plantation campaign,” he added.

The prime minister said that climate changes have occurred in the world over the past few years. “Floods in 2022 affected every sector of Pakistan. Pakistan is among the 10 countries most affected by climate change,” he said.

“Planting trees will reduce the effects of climate change,” the prime minister said.
