Probe launched into death of minor domestic helper in Gambat

GAMBAT, Khairpur: A young female domestic helper has died under mysterious circumstance in Gambat Ranipur, a town within the Khairpur district in Sindh.

The girl, who could not be identified, had been employed at a mansion owned by a local Peer.

According to the girl’s mother, who spoke about the heart-wrenching incident, her daughter had been unwell.

“We were informed that the girl was sick, but to our shock, after just two days, we received the devastating news of her passing,” the mother told HUM News English.

The initial news of the girl’s untimely demise reportedly came from fellow workers at the mansion, raising concerns over the circumstances of her death.

Consequently, the incident garnered the attention of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Sukkur, who swiftly took notice of the matter.

The DIG promptly met with the grieving relatives of the deceased girl and directed the police to initiate an investigation into the incident.

Instructing Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khairpur Rohail Khoso, the DIG emphasised the need for a thorough investigation.

Notably, the DIG ordered the immediate arrest of those believed to be involved in the incident, asserting the importance of justice for the victim’s family.

Additionally, the DIG Sukkur suspended the Station House Officer (SHO) of Ranipur.

In an update, the SSP Khairpur said that the suspect has been arrested and an investigation is under way.
