Process to equip Lahore traffic police with body cameras continues

LAHORE: The Lahore City Traffic Police has equipped an additional 200 traffic wardens with body cameras, bringing the total number to 400 across the city.
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Athar Waheed said that the latest batch of body cameras has been distributed among wardens posted in key areas including Mall Road and Cantonment (Cantt).
The initiative aims to improve traffic management and ensure better monitoring of public interactions.
“Body cameras have now been provided to more sectors throughout Lahore,” CTO Waheed said, addimg that these devices are especially useful in reviewing incidents such as protests, processions, and other on-ground issues.
He also said that the footage from these cameras can be used for operational reviews, evidence in disputes, and overall improvement in the functioning of the traffic police.
