LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has asserted that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) proved to be an inept administration, marking it as the “worst government” in recent history.

In observance of the “Thanksgiving and Salvation” day, commemorating the conclusion of the PDM government’s tenure, PTI’s spokesperson stated that the nation had witnessed a decline in governance during this period.

Highlighting economic data, the spokesperson pointed out that while in April 2022, the economy was flourishing at a growth rate of 6.1 percent, it plummeted to an abysmal 29 percent by August 2023.

The spokesperson further lamented the dire state of large-scale manufacturing, which remained in a state of disarray and distress throughout the PDM’s rule.

Contrastingly, the PTI highlighted its own achievements, citing a notable increase in remittances from $27 billion to $31.3 billion during its governance.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of political stability, the PTI spokesperson underscored that the country’s economic revival hinges on a transparent electoral process.

In an official statement released on Wednesday, the PTI core committee declared the day as a moment for gratitude and atonement, marking the culmination of a 16-month era led by figures they characterized as “criminals and fascists.”
