PTI chief’s bail in May 9 cases rejected

ISLAMABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday dismissed pre-arrest bail of PTI chief in three cases registered over his alleged involvement in the May 9 riots.

ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain announced the verdict reserved earlier, rejecting bail of the former prime minister over his continued non-appearance before the court.
Two cases were registered against PTI chief at Khanna police station and one at Bhara Kahu police station for blocking of roads, disrupting state affairs, attacking police personnel, and damaging the public property.

On August 5, former prime minister was arrested from his residence in Lahore after trial court handed a three-year prison sentence in Toshakhana case.
The conviction bans PTI chief from political office for the next five years.
