According to sources, the police has confiscated all the record present inside the secretariat.

Party leader Shibli Faraz confirming the arrest of the two PTI leaders said Barrister Gohar and Hassan Raouf have been taken into custody but he does not know on what charges. He claimed that their cell phones have also been confiscated by the police.

PTI has slammed the law enforcers and said they were disregarding the law.

“It’s absolutely shameful how Islamabad Police continues to completely mock and disregard every law in this country. Law of the jungle is reigning over Pakistan!” PTI said in a statement on X.

The PTI said police took computer and some other goods into custody as well from the party secretariat.

Imran Khan’s lawyer Ali Ijaz Buttar claimed that PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Information Secretary Rauf Hassan had been arrested by the Islamabad police from the party’s office.

“I just received a call from the party’s office informing that 300 to 400 policemen arrived at the [party’s] office and arrested PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and Information Secretary Raoof Hasan,” Buttar wrote on X.

Barrister Gohar not detained, claims police

Rebutting the party’s claim, sources within the Islamabad Police said that the law enforcers have only detained, not arrested, Hassan. They said that Gohar had not been taken into custody.

They said barrister Gohar was questioned but he has not been detained.

The police said that they had raided the digital media center at the secretariat as it had become a hub of disinformation. They claimed that the digital media center was being run by Hassan Raouf and was disseminating false information regarding the law enforcing agencies.
