PESHAWAR: In a strategic move aimed at bolstering its political influence in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has forged an alliance with the Sunni Ittehad Council.

PTI plans to submit a list of reserved seats to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) today, according to party sources.

The merger between PTI and the Sunni Ittehad Council is set to significantly impact the political landscape of the province. Party insiders revealed that the merged entity would be entitled to 23 special seats along with three minority seats in the Provincial Assembly.

The list of reserved seats, comprising exclusively of PTI nominees, will be formally submitted to the ECP today,” affirmed party sources, highlighting the consolidation of the alliance’s political agenda.

PTI sources said that the two political entities have entered into an ‘unconditional alliance’. This underscores a strategic manoeuvre aimed at consolidating political power in the region.

With the submission of the reserved seat list, both parties are poised to assert their influence and representation in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, setting the stage for potential policy collaborations and legislative initiatives.
