PTI loses “bat” symbol; PHC announces verdict

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday, announced reserved verdict on the review petition of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against restoration of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) electoral symbol, ‘bat’.

PHC withdrew the suspension orders on ECP’s verdict, restoring ECP’s verdict that declared PTI’s intra-party elections void and withdrew the “bat” election symbol from PTI.

PHC had reserved the verdict yesterday after hearing arguments from both sides. Sikander Mohmand appeared as the counsel for the ECP in front of Justice Ejaz Khan of the PHC.
