PTI protest: Rawalpindi Traffic Police issues advisory

RAWALPINDI: Due to prevailing law and order concerns, Rawalpindi’s City Traffic Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for the public.
Several major roads and intersections in the city have been closed to traffic to ensure safety and security amid ongoing political unrest and potential protests.
According to the advisory, key locations such as Faizabad, Murree Road, Faiz-ul-Islam, Stadium Road, Double Road, Sixth Road, Chandni Chowk, and C-Block Chowk have been blocked for all types of traffic.
Other areas, including Khanna Pul, Sahi Chowk, Kohati Bazaar, Liaquat Bagh, and T-Chowk Rawat, are also inaccessible.
While many roads are closed, certain routes like Kacheri Chowk to Koral via Old Airport Road remain open.

Sawan Pul has been opened to single-lane traffic. The Rawalpindi traffic advisory has advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel during this time and to remain informed through the traffic control numbers, which are available for emergency situations.
Citizens requiring emergency assistance, including movement of ambulances or fire brigades, are advised to contact the City Traffic Police at the provided helpline numbers: 051-9274843 and 051-9273678.
City Traffic Officer (CTO) Binaish Fatima assured the public that the traffic police will offer full cooperation and guide them towards alternate routes during emergencies.
The advisory is part of efforts to maintain law and order and protect citizens amid the ongoing political situation in Islamabad and its adjoining areas.
