PTI to boycott NSC meeting sans Imran Khan’s approval

PTI to boycott the National Security Committee meeting today

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided not to attend today’s National Security Committee (NSC) meeting unless permission is granted for a meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan.

In a late-night statement, PTI’s political committee demanded a meeting with Imran Khan before the NSC session. The party warned that if their demand was not met, they would boycott the meeting.

PTI Information Secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed that the party’s political committee held an emergency meeting to discuss their participation in the NSC session. “We will not attend the meeting unless permission is granted for a meeting with Imran Khan,” he stated.

Sources reveal that several PTI core committee members objected to the names submitted for the NSC session. They argued that Amir Dogar was nominated without consulting the political and core committees.

Earlier, Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq and Federal Minister Tariq Fazal Chaudhry had contacted PTI to request names for the meeting. PTI then submitted the names of Barrister Gohar, Asad Qaiser, Zartaj Gul, Amir Dogar, Ali Muhammad Khan, Barrister Ali Zafar, Hamid Raza, and others.

On Monday, PTI Chief Whip Amir Dogar met Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and demanded that a three-member parliamentary delegation be allowed to meet Imran Khan before the parliamentary NSC session. Speaker Sadiq and government ministers assured him that they would facilitate the meeting.
