PTI to hold token hunger strike from today


ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to hold a token hunger strike from today in protest against the arrests, raids and registration of cases against party workers and leaders.

In this regard, a hunger strike camp would be set up outside the Parliament House from 3 till 7 pm and would be led by the opposition leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub.

The camp will also include PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar and other members.

Meanwhile, the Sunni Ittehad Council has also decided to set up a hunger strike camp in front of the Punjab assembly from 3-7 PM starting from tomorrow (Wednesday).

Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly, Malik Ahmad Bhachar, stated that the decision for the hunger strike camp was made on the instructions of the PTI founder, and consultations were held with Parliamentary Leader Mian Aslam Iqbal.

The symbolic hunger strike camp will demand the release of the founder chairman and address the arrests of social media activists and rising inflation.
