RAWALPINDI: Following the meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, the party’s chairperson Barrister Gohar conveyed that the incarcerated former prime minister has authorised presenting written demands to the government committee.
“We have been instructed to continue dialogue with the government’s negotiating committee and have been given permission to submit our demands in writing as well,” he said.
According to Gohar, the PTI founder has stressed upon the necessity of a third round of negotiations and that it is crucial for any progress: “Without facilitating a meeting of the negotiating team, the talks cannot move forward,” he added.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar, while accusing the government of being non-serious about negotiations, insisted that they agreed to hold talks for the sake of Pakistan, not to crack any secret deal.
A day earlier addressing a press conference, flanked by PTI leaders Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, and Salman Akram Raja in Islamabad on Tuesday, he reiterated the opposition’s demands for the meeting between Imran Khan and the opposition’s negotiation committee before the third round of the talks.
PTI on Monday filed an application with the Adiala Jail superintendent, urging to facilitate the negotiation team’s meeting with Imran Khan in a “free environment” by Tuesday (today).
During the second round of talks on January 2, PTI, instead of furnishing its demands in black and white as agreed in the first meeting with the government requested the government to grant more time for holding consultation with its founder Imran Khan for finalizing the charter of demands.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday had expressed that the ongoing talks between the government and the Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had hit a snag after recent tweets shared by Khan.
“Now, negotiations with the PTI is meaningless,” he said while talking to a private TV channel adding that
even though the government has no confidence in the PTI, negotiations should proceed.
Asif also claimed that PTI leaders were now expecting an NRO from President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.
