PTI’s Hammad Azhar comes out of hiding, gets transit bail

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Hammad Azhar, who had been in hiding since the May 9 incidents, surfaced in Peshawar to appear before the court for bail.

Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Ibrahim Khan heard Hammad Azhar’s applications for transit bail after the PTI leader appeared in court.

After the initial hearing, the court approved his transit bail in 51 cases.

Speaking to the media outside the court, Hammad Azhar said that he had been in the country during his time in hiding.

He said that the country’s law had been mocked for the past eight months, with 51 cases filed against him at one time.

Azhar further stated that no regard was given to the judiciary, democracy, or humanity, and a party that was winning with a two-thirds majority was defeated.

He announced that he would detail all the information during a press conference in the coming days.

He expressed anguish over the ordeal he and his family had to endure, stating that the judiciary, democracy, and humanity none were spared by the state operatives.
