ISLAMABAD: In the aftermath of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif’s impassioned homecoming speech during yesterday’s jalsa, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Barrister Mohammad Saif has delivered a pointed response, alleging that Sharif remains entrenched in the past.
According to Saif, Nawaz Sharif’s speech unmistakably revealed his lingering bitterness towards historical events. Saif contended that Sharif’s entire narrative appears to be firmly anchored in what he described as the “shrine of the past.”

He also noted a paradox in Sharif’s speech, stating that while Sharif declared, “I will not name” anyone, he proceeded to mention several individuals throughout his address.
Nawaz Sharif’s call for reconciliation, while expressing a desire to abstain from seeking revenge, did not escape Barrister Saif’s scrutiny. Saif asserted that Sharif’s words suggested that the embers of retribution still smolder within him.
