PTI’s protest call is final, says Barrister Gohar after meeting with Imran Khan

PTI’s protest call is final

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar announced on Monday that the protest call issued by party founder Imran Khan is final, ruling out the possibility of its withdrawal.

Speaking to the media following a critical meeting with Imran Khan at Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail, Barrister Gohar emphasised that the protest would proceed as planned.

“I had an important discussion with our party’s founder, and his stance remains unchanged — the protest call is final and will not be called off,” he said.

The meeting, attended by Barrister Gohar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Saif, lasted approximately 90 minutes.

When asked about potential negotiations with the government, Gohar responded, “Yes, discussions are ongoing. We will share more details soon, God willing.”

Imran Khan had called for a nationwide protest at Islamabad on November 24. A PTI convoy, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and former first lady Bushra Bibi departed Swabi on Monday, with a large contingent of party leaders, workers and supporters.

Earlier, Bushra Bibi addressed party workers from a container, vowing to continue the march until Imran Khan’s demands were met. “We will not end this march until Imran Khan is back with us,” she declared, adding, “I will stand with you till my last breath, whether you support me or not.”

Expressing her confidence in the Pashtun community’s resilience, she said, “I am not hopeful — I am certain — that Pashtuns are a proud and steadfast nation. They never abandon their cause until the final battle.”

The PTI announced the Islamabad protest to demand the release of former prime minister Imran Khan and the acceptance of other key demands.
