PTI’s Zartaj Gul booked on corruption charges

DERA GHAZI ZHAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former state minister Zartaj Gul has been booked on “corruption charges.”

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) reportedly conducted a raid at Gul’s residence, but she was not present at the time.

She been summoned multiple times in corruption cases by the ACE, but she has not appeared before them.

Now ACE Punjab has once again summoned Zartaj Gul over the corruption charges. She was previously summoned on April 10, but she did not appear before the anti-corruption team. Now, ACE Punjab has issued another summons for May 11 at 10AM.

The allegations against her include awarding contracts for development projects to her “frontmen” at lower rates in exchange for “bribes.”

It is claimed that she and her husband Humayun Akhund took a 10 per cent commission for providing funds for development schemes in her constituency.

The couple is also accused of revising development schemes that caused significant losses to the national treasury, according to the Punjab ACE.
