WEB DESK: In a recent announcement, the district administration declared a public holiday in Jamshoro on February 29 to mark the commencement of the 772 three-day annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

The Urs festivities are set to begin on February 29 and will span three days, featuring a series of events and cultural activities.

The Urs ceremonies will encompass various activities, including a literary conference, traditional Sindhi wrestling known as Malakhro, and soul-stirring recitals of Sufi music. These events aim to engage and entertain attendees, providing a cultural and spiritual experience.

Given the significance of the occasion, the local administration has implemented stringent security measures to ensure the safety of participants and visitors throughout the annual Urs celebrations.

Facilitation camps have been established in Sehwan to cater to the needs of devotees and offer essential facilities to the guests of the shrine.

Highlighting the importance of security, Caretaker Sindh Minister for Law and Auqaf Umer Soomro recently undertook a visit to the shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

Accompanied by former Caretaker Sindh Minister Iftekhar Ahmed Soomro, the Caretaker Law Minister paid his respects by laying a floral wreath at the shrine.

He also offered fateha and prayers for the overall development and prosperity of the country and the Sindh region.
