According to an official notification, despite 20 years having passed, the law to start institutional practice in teaching hospitals has not been enforced. The Medical and Health Institutional Act 2003 mandated a ban on private practice a year after its implementation.
The notification highlights that the role of the Board of Management in teaching hospitals includes approving projects and ensuring the implementation of government policies. The Board is also responsible for determining the procedures for treating private patients.
