Punjab cabinet approves Child Protection Policy

LAHORE: Punjab Cabinet has approved the Child Protection Policy prepared by the provincial Child Protection & Welfare Bureau.

Bureau Chairperson Sara Ahmed said that this approval is a historic milestone. “The Child Protection Bureau had sent the policy two years ago,” she said, adding, “Punjab is the first province where Child Protection Policy has been approved.”

JUI-F ANNOUNCES PROTEST AGAINST CHILD MARRIAGE LAW

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has announced nationwide protest rallies against the recently enacted bill that prohibits underage marriages.

Maulana Fazl called the ‘Islamabad Capital Territory Child Marriage Restraint Act 2025’ as un-Islamic. He has called these protests as effort to create awareness among the general public.
