Punjab CM extends Easter greetings to Christian community

SHEIKHUPURA: Punjab’s Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, attended an Easter event at Sheikhupura, and extended warm Easter greetings to the Christian community.
Expressing her joy, she conveyed her heartfelt wishes to the attendees, highlighting the significance of sharing in each other’s happiness. “It is a pleasure to attend your event,” CM Nawaz said, adding, “I cannot express in words how happy I am today.”

Reflecting on her past encounters, she shared sentiments about her previous visits to the area, notably recalling that she used to see Maryamabad’s board while on her way to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court appearances.
“I wanted to visit this area sometime,” she said expressing gratitude, “Thank you very much for the love with which you welcomed me.”
Emphasising the essence of festivals in fostering unity and joy, Punjab CM underscored the contributions of the Christian community to Pakistan’s progress. “The services of the Christian community for Pakistan are deeply acknowledged. We are all Pakistanis without any discrimination.”

She also conveyed Easter wishes on behalf of Nawaz Sharif and condemned any form of religious discrimination or violence. “No one should hurt anyone on the basis of religion or belief.” She also expressed condolences for the recent loss of two Christian brothers in Faisalabad.
Expressing solidarity with affected families, Nawaz reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring the protection and rights of minorities in Pakistan. “I have a dream that minorities get full protection in Pakistan,” Maryam Nawaz said.
