Punjab CM launches ‘Apni Zameen Apna Ghar’ portal

Maryam Nawaz launches apni zameen apna ghar portal

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has officially launched the ‘Apni Zameen Apna Ghar’ e-portal aimed at providing free residential plots to the homeless.

Under the initiative, 2,000 free 3-marla plots will be distributed across 23 housing schemes in 19 districts of Punjab.

In the first phase, plots will be given in Jhelum, Pattoki, Mamu Kanjan, Lodhran, and Renala Khurd. Those selected through a draw will also be eligible for easy loans on flexible terms.

“This project is close to my heart,” said Maryam Nawaz. “Owning a home has become a distant dream for the common man.”

She added that the vision of her father, Nawaz Sharif, is to provide shelter to every homeless person.

According to the chief minister, nearly 34,000 homes are under construction within a short period of six months, while 2,000 have already been completed. A three-month grace period will be offered for loan repayments, which have already begun.

Owners of plots ranging from 1 to 10 marlas can apply for loans under this scheme. “Having your own home brings a sense of security and dignity,” Maryam said while launching the apni zameen apna ghar portal.
