Punjab govt ensures quality treatment in hospitals

LAHORE: Caretaker Provincial Health Minister, Professor Dr Javed Akram, highlighted the government’s commitment to monitoring and ensuring the quality of patient care in public hospitals in Punjab.

In a statement released on Monday, Dr Akram highlighted that all testing machines in government hospitals are functioning at 100 per cent capacity.

Patient tests, conducted through biomedical machines, aim to ensure a seamless experience for individuals seeking medical attention at any government hospital.

In a parallel development, the caretaker Provincial Minister for Health, Social Welfare, and Bait-ul-Maal, Prof. Dr Javed Akram, announced a significant step towards sustainability.

The secretariat of the Punjab Welfare Trust for the Disabled (PWTD) is slated to transition to solar energy.

This announcement came during Dr Akram’s chairing of the 32nd meeting of PWTD’s Board of Governors on Monday.

The meeting, attended by key officials including Secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Baitul-Maal Zahoor Hussain, Additional Secretary Aamir Shafiq, Prof. Dr Mahmood Shaukat, Deputy Secretary Finance Saima Sadiq, Zafar Abbas Lak, Director Programmes Dr Izhar, and others, delved into the organisation’s workings.

Director of Programmes, Dr Izhar, provided a comprehensive overview to the provincial health minister.

Dr Javed Akram expressed satisfaction with the detailed review of all PWTD initiatives, underscoring the organisation’s exclusive focus on the rehabilitation of differently-abled individuals.

Currently active in 22 districts of Punjab, PWTD plays a vital role in providing services for the differently-abled.

Minister Akram affirmed the Punjab government’s dedication to utilising all available resources for the rehabilitation efforts and announced plans to extend PWTD’s scope to cover the entire province.
