Punjab home ministry announces SOPs for Eidul Azha

LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has announced various Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in view of Eidul-Azha to ensure public convenience and security.
According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Home Department, banned organizations will not be allowed to collect sacrificial hides. Only institutions registered with the Charitable Commission will be permitted to receive sacrificial hides. Additionally, Section 144 will be imposed to prohibit the burning of heads and hooves in public places.
Swimming and boating in rivers, streams, and dams will also be banned during Eid. Special security arrangements have been instructed for Eidgahs, mosques, and madrasas across Punjab. Similarly, all cattle markets will also have enhanced security measures in place, according to Punjab SOPs for Eidul Azha.

The spokesperson further stated that the administration must ensure that no commission or extortion is collected in cattle markets. No illegal cattle markets will be allowed to operate across Punjab. Furthermore, necessary steps will be taken to manage the influx of tourists and control traffic in Murree and the Galyat regions.
These measures have been taken to ensure public safety and order during Eid-ul-Azha, preventing any untoward incidents or disorder.
ONLINE PORTAL FOR PURCHASING SACRIFICIAL ANIMALS
The Punjab government has launched an online portal for purchasing sacrificial animals for the Eidul Azha,.
The portal provides listings of the available animals, including their pictures, age, weight, species, breed, and price.
This new initiative aims to streamline the process of acquiring these animals by leveraging modern technology, according to the state broadcaster.
