‘Apni chat apna ghar’ housing project introduced in Punjab

LAHORE: The Punjab government has initiated a new housing project called the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar”, aiming to construct 100,000 houses for the low-income segment of society.

Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, chaired a meeting regarding the project, seeking a comprehensive plan for its implementation. The goal is to build over 3,000 houses for low-income individuals in each district of Punjab.

During the meeting, CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of efficiency and affordability in the housing project for Punjab.

She directed the preparation of a model house within six weeks and instructed to keep down payments and monthly installments minimal.

Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing shelter for the poor, stating, “Providing a roof for the poor is our promise, we will definitely fulfill it.”

Quality and durability were highlighted as essential factors in house construction. Furthermore, the CM stressed the importance of locating the houses near city limits to ease commuting for residents.
